The cost of November futures for Brent crude oil on the London ICE Futures exchange was $74.68 per barrel. Compared to the figure at the end of yesterday's trading, this is $0.2 (0.27%) less.
WTI oil futures for October on electronic trading on the New York Mercantile Exchange (NYMEX) fell in price by $0.1 (0.14%), to $71.85 per barrel.
Since the beginning of the week, both brands have risen in price by more than 4% due to improved investor sentiment after the Federal Reserve cut the rate by 50 basis points at once, to 4.75-5%.
This is expected to stimulate activity in the US economy and affect demand for fuel.
