The bodies of five Azerbaijani citizens, who were killed in Ukraine, have been sent home, Spokeswoman for the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry Leyla Abdullayeva told journalists.

The Foreign Ministry spokeswoman said that the bodies of five slain Azerbaijani citizens, who were killed in Ukraine, on March 14, were sent to Turkey from Moldova’s Chisinau via Romania and Bulgaria and will be flown to Baku from Turkey.

They are Nemat Ismayilov, 1975; Rahim Ismayilov, 1966; Azar Alizada, 1994; Jamal Salmanov, 1997, who were gunned down at the Kuchurgan checkpoint by unidentified men while trying to leave Odesa through Moldova on their own initiative, as well as Goshgar Mammadov, 1987, killed in Kharkiv.

She added that the bodies of the slain citizens will be brought home today on an Istanbul-Baku flight of Azerbaijan Airlines and be handed over to their relatives
