Sign language mobile app supported by Nar to be launched soon
20.05.2025 09:36

The development of a mobile application for sign language learning is progressing steadily with the support of the affordable mobile operator Nar, as well as bp and its partners, and under the
organization of ADA University and the ADA University Foundation. In the final phase of the project, the work has entered a critical stage — transitioning from content creation to integration and testing within the application. This initiative promotes inclusivity by facilitating communication for individuals with hearing and speech impairments, enabling them to learn sign language free of charge and without the need for an instructor.

Within the scope of the project, which is expected to be finalized soon, the educational content
developed with the support of the Support to the Deaf Public Union has been integrated into a test environment. Backend development and database configuration are nearly complete, and the app has been deployed on the AWS platform. The core functionalities of the app have been prepared for testing, while UI/UX design elements have been finalized. The number of sign language words and learning pages developed exceeds initial plans, ensuring steady progress toward project goals.

Nar’s participation in this project reflects its broader commitment to fostering an inclusive society. As a continuation of our efforts in this direction, the project aims to support sign language education and improve information accessibility for individuals with disabilities across the country.

Nar currently provides high-quality communication services to 2.2 million subscribers. Nar has
been the leading mobile operator in the country according to the Net Promoter Score for the last 6 years. The mobile operator adheres to a customer-centric strategy and provides excellent
service at an affordable price.
