Two international flights make emergency landings in Baku
Two international flights made emergency landings at Heydar Aliyev International Airport for separate reasons.
According to airport officials, the captain of a Finnair flight operating from Helsinki to Phuket requested an emergency landing after a passenger on board suffered a sudden medical emergency.
The Airbus A350 landed safely in Baku at 0054 local time. The passenger received immediate medical assistance and was taken to a city hospital. The aircraft resumed its journey to its destination at 0259.
Separately, a Cargolux Airlines flight operating from Zhengzhou to Ashgabat requested an emergency landing due to adverse weather conditions at the destination airport.
The Boeing 747 landed safely in Baku at 0832 local time. Airport authorities said all procedures were carried out in full compliance with international aviation safety standards.
