Traffic police warn drivers of hazardous road conditions
Azerbaijan’s State Traffic Police Department warned motorists on Wednesday of dangerous driving conditions due to dense fog affecting Baku and several regions of the country.
The police said thick fog has significantly reduced visibility on roads, disrupted traffic flow and increased the risk of road accidents.
Limited visibility prevents drivers from accurately assessing road conditions and may lead to serious incidents, the statement said.
Drivers were urged to strictly observe speed limits and maintain safe distances, avoid sudden braking and refrain from risky manoeuvres. Pedestrians were advised to cross roads only at designated crossings and ensure vehicles have fully stopped before proceeding.
