Organs from approximately 10 deceased donors in Azerbaijan were used to perform over 50 transplant surgeries in 2025, according to the Organ Donation and Transplantation Coordination Center. The list of successful procedures includes several kidney transplants, nearly 10 liver transplants, corneal grafts, and two heart transplants.

Authorities noted that the vast majority of these operations were successful, marking a significant step forward in the country’s efforts to expand its posthumous organ donation program and reduce reliance on living donors.
