AZAL cargo revenues more than triple over four years
24.02.2026 13:59

Cargo revenues of Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) increased by 211% in 2022–2025, while cargo volumes rose by 170%.

The figures were provided by Heydar Aliyev International Airport in response to a query by Report.

According to the airport, AZAL has identified cargo development as one of its priority areas in recent years, resulting in steady growth.

The faster growth in revenues compared to cargo volumes reflects strengthened commercial operations, improved pricing discipline and enhanced revenue management. This indicates that cargo transportation is now developing in a structured and systematic manner.

Over the past few years, more than 30 strategic commercial agreements have been signed, cargo sales have been expanded across all destinations, and full commercial coverage of the network has been ensured.

At the same time, network monetization and market penetration have been reinforced, strengthening the cargo segment’s position as a revenue-generating stream. Digitalization projects are currently underway, and the airline is transitioning to new reservation systems to boost operational efficiency and further improve customer service.

AZAL aims to continue increasing the share of cargo transportation and developing it as a sustainable source of revenue.
