Winter returns: rain and snow forecast for Baku

Rain, sleet and snow are forecast for Baku and the Absheron Peninsula on February 10, with precipitation expected to intensify in some areas during the day and strong north-westerly winds forecast, the National Hydrometeorological Service said.

Air temperatures are expected to range between 1 and 4 degrees Celsius during both night and daytime hours. Atmospheric pressure is forecast to rise from 756 mm to 767 mm of mercury, while relative humidity will stand at around 80–85%.

Rain and snow are also expected across other regions of Azerbaijan, with locally heavy precipitation in some areas. Fog may form in certain districts, and westerly winds will occasionally strengthen.

Temperatures in the regions are forecast at 0–5 degrees Celsius at night and 5–8 degrees during the day, while mountainous areas will see temperatures of minus 3 to minus 8 degrees at night and minus 0 to minus 3 degrees during the day. Icy conditions are expected on roads in mountainous and foothill areas overnight and in the morning.
