Azerbaijan boosts imports of Mongolian lamb
Azerbaijan imported 638.4 tonnes of lamb worth $3.3 million in 2025, up 81% in value terms and 41% in volume compared with 2024, Report said citing official statistics.
The bulk of supplies came from Mongolia, which delivered 572.5 tonnes (+27%) worth $2.3 million (+28%).
Additional imports were sourced from Somalia, Russia, United Kingdom and New Zealand.
Imports from the United Kingdom resumed after a break of nearly nine years.
Mongolia accounted for 89.7% of Azerbaijan’s total lamb imports in 2025, compared with 99.3% of 453 tonnes in 2024.
