Eight killed in Azerbaijan last week amid fires, accidents, and emergencies

Eight people died in Azerbaijan last week as authorities responded to a series of emergencies, the Ministry of Emergency Situations reported.

Based on calls to the “112” hotline, emergency teams handled 239 fires, 38 cases of people in distress, three traffic accidents, one suicide attempt, and one explosion.

Rescue operations saved 46 people, including 10 children, while three were injured and one suffered smoke inhalation. Fires were quickly extinguished, preventing further casualties.
