Mud volcano erupts on Azerbaijan’s Absheron peninsula
A mud volcano on Azerbaijan’s Absheron peninsula erupted late on Thursday, the Republican Seismological Service Centre said.
The eruption at the Bozdag-Gyuzdek volcano began at 2226 local time and lasted six minutes, according to digital monitoring stations.
It consisted of a single phase, with a focal depth of 3 km and released energy estimated at 6.32×10⁶ joules, the centre said.
