Azerbaijan food safety agency finds violations in gyms, supplement shops
Azerbaijan’s food safety agency said it had identified violations during inspections of sports nutrition shops and gyms in Baku.
The agency found that six businesses were selling sports supplements without proper food safety registration.
Illegal sales were also detected in EG Fitness gym in Surakhani district, where products including IronMax supplements and amino acids were offered without authorization.
At Tempo Fitness in Narimanov district, inspectors found supplements lacking Azerbaijani-language labelling and import health certificates, including whey protein and L-carnitine products.
Administrative protocols were drawn up against the business owners, and product samples were seized for laboratory testing, the agency said, adding the goods had been removed from sale.
The agency advised consumers to avoid purchasing unregistered dietary supplements without proper certification.
