Azerbaijan extradites wanted school director from Turkey

A school director wanted on fraud charges has been extradited from Turkey to Azerbaijan, the General Prosecutor’s Office of Azerbaijan said.

The extradition of Azerbaijani citizen Sevinj Huseynova was approved by Turkish authorities under the 1957 European Convention on Extradition.

Prosecutors allege Huseynova abused her position to fraudulently obtain about 69,000 manat from multiple victims.

She was charged with fraud causing significant damage and abuse of office, and had been placed on an international wanted list after evading investigation.

She was detained in Turkey and is being transferred to Azerbaijan, authorities said.
