One person killed in soil collapse during excavation work in Gobustan

A soil collapse during excavation work in Gobustan settlement in Baku’s Garadagh district left one person dead and another injured, Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Emergency Situations said.

The ministry said its “112” hotline received a report that people had been left helpless at the scene, after which rescue teams and firefighters were dispatched immediately.

Rescuers pulled one man out alive, while the body of another man was recovered from under the debris and handed over to the relevant authorities, the ministry said.
