Weak geomagnetic storm expected in Azerbaijan

A weak G1-class geomagnetic storm is expected on June 29-30 due to the impact of a coronal mass ejection that left the Sun on June 26, the Shamakhi Astrophysical Observatory of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences said.

The observatory said the geomagnetic activity would be caused by the interaction of the solar eruption with the Earth’s magnetic field.

Specialists expect the geomagnetic field to fluctuate between active and unsettled conditions on July 1.

G1 geomagnetic storms are considered minor and generally have limited effects on technical systems and geomagnetically sensitive individuals.
