28,000 people now reside and work in Khankendi
Khankendi's active population has reached 28,000 residents and workers, stated Elchin Yusubov, Special Representative of the President of Azerbaijan for Khankendi, Aghdara, and Khojaly, during a diplomatic delegation tour of the city's Culture Center.
Yusubov emphasized that the organized return of formerly displaced citizens is advancing rapidly. "More than 3,000 students are currently enrolled at Karabakh University in Khankendi, representing over 10% of the city's overall population," he reported.
The presidential envoy outlined ongoing municipal projects, including the construction of residential apartment blocks, green recreation spaces, and modern transit avenues: "We have accelerated the demolition of substandard and aesthetically non-compliant structures while drafting design schemes for new complexes built strictly to contemporary urban planning codes."
