Brother of Ramiz Mehdiyev’s son-in-law Ilham Aliyev dies

Fikrat Aliyev, the brother of Ilham Aliyev—son-in-law of former head of the Presidential Administration and former ANAS president Ramiz Mehdiyev—has died following a distinguished administrative career.

Fikrat Aliyev previously served with the rank of colonel within the now-defunct Ministry of National Security. Over the course of his professional tenure, he held senior executive roles, including pro-rector at the Azerbaijan International University, chairman of the Central Military Medical Commission under the State Service for Mobilization and Conscription, and deputy head of the Administrative Department at the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences.
