Pashinyan: Armenia Must Leave EAEU to Pursue EU Membership; Ties with CSTO Exhausted

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated that Yerevan has no alternative but to exit the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) as it advances toward European Union integration, aiming for an accession bid by 2027–2028.
"At this moment, we have no choice but to leave the EAEU, and the process is approaching the point where we will officially submit an application to begin EU accession procedures in 2027–2028," Pashinyan told reporters during a briefing on November 5. Addressing recent remarks by the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) Secretary General, the prime minister declared that Armenia’s security interests with the military bloc are completely depleted: "I want to state once and for all: our interests associated with the CSTO have been exhausted. We no longer have any interests connected with the CSTO."
