Aliyev signs into law bill restricting caesarean section

Azeri President IlhamAliyev has signed into law a bill restricting caesarean section, state newsagency Azartac reported.

Women preferring caesareansection to natural birth will now have to get permission from the “executive authorities”,according to the law.

Caesarean section will beallowed in both state-owned and private hospitals.

Hospitals violating the lawwill face administrative punishment, according to the law.
