Finding a shortcut is always handy - until it involves a vertigo-inducing cable car ride over a 1,200ft drop.

Nonetheless, these villagers appear quite happy to cross this 440m-wide valley to shave a couple of hours off their journey. The Ying'ge 'strop ropeway' is said to be the world's longest and tallest.Running above the Jinsha River, it is connects villages on opposite mountains.Built in 1999, it's co-sponsored by 10 families in Ying'ge village, southwest China's Yunnan Province and connects to Fengjiaping village, Sichuan Province, on the other side.Although there is a paved road connecting the two villages local residents on both sides still use the ropeway because it's more economic and time-saving.One resident said: 'The road transportation takes five hours while the ropeway takes 10 minutes, plus three hours by road.'(dailymail.co.uk)ANN.Az
