The Western Azerbaijan Community strongly condemns the distortion of statements by the Azerbaijani side regarding the right of Western Azerbaijanis expelled from their homeland to return to their historical lands, as well as the racist views of the speaker of the Armenian Parliament, Alen Simonyan, reads the community's statement. 

The statement also notes that the right of return, emphasized in the speech of the Azerbaijani side, is an integral part of international law and fundamental human rights, and Simonyan's expressions about sending Azerbaijanis to the Altai Mountains in the name of "searching for their historical homeland" once again testifies to the prevalence of racist ideology in the leadership circles of Armenia. 

"Simonyan's speech is an attempt to disrupt the peace process and undermine the right of return for Azerbaijanis expelled from Armenia. As the Western Azerbaijan Community, we demand that Armenia refrain from such racist rhetoric and respect the right of Western Azerbaijanis to return," the statement says.
