Couples who welcomed a baby on Tuesday, 11/12/13, will have no problem remembering their child's birthday in the future. For one couple in particular, the date is especially remarkable.

Sarah and Chase Oliver, from Greenville, South Carolina, told Fox Carolina that they weren't expecting their son to be born until Sarah's due date on November 23, but James Douglas came into the world yesterday instead, on the 'lucky' date.

The birth was all the more coincidental because the couple was married on September 10, 2011 - yet another rare sequential date.

Mrs Oliver, who works as a pediatric resident at Greenville Memorial Hospital, said: 'Somebody mentioned that our anniversary is 9/10/11 and how cool it would be if he were born on 11/12/13.

'That was really the first time we kind of thought about it,' she added. 'And then it was really cool that it actually happened.'

James Douglas was born just before 3pm, and was one of more than a dozen babies delivered at that particular hospital.

Sarah and Chase's story is special because it was unplanned, but many others made use of yesterday's unforgettable date in different ways.

According to a David's Bridal annual survey, more than 3,000 weddings were planned to take place in the U.S. on November 12, 2013, compared with 371 weddings on the same date last year.

Brian Beitler, chief marketing officer for David's Bridal, said the company's November 16 to November 27 online survey of 500 engaged or married women found that there is a rising trend of couples seeking such 'iconic' wedding dates.

Iconic dates have become a trend in the U.S., reaching new heights when over 65,000 couples tied the knot on 7/7/7,' Mr Beitler said.

'11/12/13 is a sequential pattern, and we have learned that couples love dates that have patterns.'
