Garibashvili: Georgia ready to play role of energy hub in region

Georgia is ready to play the role of an energy hub in the South Caucasus region, Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Garibashvili said at the international Silk Road Forum in Tbilisi.

He noted that in this sense, the strategic agreement on the transmission of electricity across the Black Sea, signed by the leaders of Georgia, Azerbaijan, Romania and Hungary, is very important.

"This project is a connection between the South Caucasus and Europe,” he added.

Garibashvili emphasized that digitalization of transport corridors is the next important step for the development of the region.
