Azerbaijan’s deputy energy minister attends Uzbekistan Energy Week

Azerbaijan was represented by Deputy Minister of Energy Orkhan Zeynalov at Uzbekistan Energy Week, held in Tashkent under the theme “Partnership for Sustainable Development.”
Zeynalov took part in the opening ceremony and the Ministerial Dialogue titled “System Reliability and Expanding Cooperation.” Speaking at the event, he highlighted Azerbaijan’s initiatives in energy transition and global cooperation, especially as the host country of COP29.
He emphasized that Azerbaijan, as a reliable natural gas supplier and a country with significant green energy potential, will continue contributing to Europe’s energy security and decarbonization goals.
The strategic importance of green energy projects planned in the Caspian Sea and the green energy corridors was underlined, as was Azerbaijan’s role in addressing the “energy trilemma”: accessibility, security of supply, and the development of renewables.
The plenary session focused on regional energy cooperation strategies, establishing a modern energy market, and implementing green economy transition strategies.
During the visit, the sides also exchanged views on energy cooperation between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan and the development of the “Central Asia–Azerbaijan Green Energy Corridor.”
