Putin–Trump Alaska meeting could sway global markets – media

The planned Aug. 15 meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and U.S. President Donald Trump in Alaska could trigger volatility in global markets, Turkish daily Dünya reported on Monday.
Analyst Ufuk Korcan said investor optimism could rise if the summit produces positive signals on ending the war in Ukraine. However, if no deal is reached and Russia faces additional sanctions, markets in countries trading with Moscow could come under pressure.
The newspaper noted that tariff threats and calls to end the conflict have already drawn investor attention.
