Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan said his country will speak on behalf of Palestine at the upcoming United Nations General Assembly, according to Anadolu news agency.

Erdogan made the remarks after talks in Ankara with Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas, who visited Turkey this week. The two leaders discussed the situation in Gaza and regional issues.

Erdogan repeated his view that Israel threatens not only Palestine but also regional stability, citing attacks on Qatar as evidence. He said Turkey will continue to raise the Palestinian issue on all international platforms and stressed that Ankara’s priority is to secure an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and end the humanitarian crisis.
