For 2026, 5 billion manats are allocated for education and science. This was stated by Deputy Finance Minister Himalay Mamishev.

This amount compared to the current year is higher by 68.4 million manats or 2.3 percent, and compared to last year’s execution is higher by 658 million manats or 14.3 percent.

Over the past five years, the funds allocated to the field of education and science have increased by a total of 1.4 billion manats or 35.3 percent.

Speaking about the distribution of expenditures by levels of education, Mamishev stated that in 2026 general and preschool education is allocated 2.9 billion manats, higher education under the state order 808.5 million manats, vocational and secondary specialized education 109.7 million manats, targeted programs, instruction and applied research 1.1 billion manats.

Within the framework of the state-funded higher education program, 42 million manats are allocated for the education expenses of 18.5 thousand students from vulnerable groups.

Also, to expand the access of low-income families to higher education, 15 million manats of additional funds are provided in next year’s state budget
