The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) and Qatar-based UCC Holding have signed a Memorandum of Understanding on supplying aviation fuel to Damascus International Airport, SOCAR announced.

Under the memorandum, the two companies plan to establish a joint venture that will supply jet fuel to the airport and develop the necessary infrastructure. SOCAR will provide technical support for fuel operations and ensure timely delivery.

SOCAR notes that on 6 September 2025, the two sides also signed MoUs outlining long-term cooperation in Syria and on international energy markets.

SOCAR, Azerbaijan’s leading energy company, is engaged in oil and gas exploration, production, processing, transportation and sales, and is active in petrochemicals, gas distribution and fuel retail.
