Azerbaijani gasoline goes on sale in Armenia at discounted rates
For the first time in decades, Azerbaijani-produced gasoline has entered the Armenian retail market, with local distributors offering the fuel at competitive prices, Armenian media reported on Wednesday.
Run Oil, a local fuel retailer, began dispensing the fuel across its network on Dec. 23. Karen Ayriyan, director of the importing firm Mega Trade, confirmed that the retail price has been set at 430 drams ($1.06) per liter, slightly lower than initial projections.
Ayriyan noted that the company recently imported 11 cisterns of the fuel and expressed no concerns regarding market demand.
Reports indicate that a second Armenian company has imported a similar volume, though its identity remains undisclosed.
The direct sale of Azerbaijani energy products in Armenia marks a significant milestone in the gradual normalization of regional trade ties.
