Oil throughput via Baku–Tbilisi–Ceyhan pipeline fell in 2025
Oil shipments through the Baku–Tbilisi–Ceyhan (BTC) pipeline totalled 206.434 million barrels in 2025, down 17.708 million barrels, or 7.9%, from the previous year, Turkey’s pipeline operator BOTAŞ said.
In December 2025, oil flows via BTC amounted to 17.319 million barrels, down 2.762 million barrels, or 13.6%, from December 2024.
By comparison, 224.142 million barrels were transported through the pipeline in 2024, a 2% decline from 2023.
The BTC pipeline carries crude from Azerbaijan’s Azeri–Chirag–Gunashli (ACG) oilfields, gas condensate from the Shah Deniz field, as well as oil and condensate produced by State Oil Company of Azerbaijan. Additional volumes are shipped from other sources, including Kazakhstan.
