An Azerbaijani delegation crossed the land border into Armenia on Thursday to attend a bilateral civil society roundtable under the “Peace Bridge” initiative, Armenian media reported.

The two-day meeting, held on Feb. 13–14, brings together representatives of Armenian and Azerbaijani civil society groups as part of efforts to support a broader peace agenda between the two countries.

The Azerbaijani delegation entered Armenia after completing all relevant border procedures, in what participants described as a practical confidence-building step.

Discussions are expected to focus on follow-up processes stemming from the peace agenda endorsed at the Washington summit on Aug. 8, 2025.

Session topics include regional security architecture, the social and economic benefits of peace, public opinion on inter-societal relations, prospects for economic cooperation, and the role of civil society in strengthening mutual trust.

The Armenian delegation includes representatives of analytical centres, media outlets and non-governmental organisations, including Areg Kochinyan, national coordinator of the Armenian Council, and Boris Navasardyan, honorary president of the Yerevan Press Club.

The Azerbaijani delegation includes Farhad Mammadov, director of the South Caucasus Research Center, Rusif Huseynov, director of the Topchubashov Center, and other analysts and media representatives.

The meeting comes as Armenia and Azerbaijan continue official negotiations aimed at finalising a peace agreement after decades of conflict.
