SOCAR to take part in major oil and gas conference in Almaty
A SOCAR delegation will take part in the Argus Kazakhstan and Central Asia Oil and Gas Markets Conference to be held in Almaty on June 18-19, Argus said.
The event is expected to bring together more than 300 delegates from nearly 200 companies from the Caspian region, Central Asia and other countries.
According to Argus, key topics will include Kazakhstan’s oil production and refining sectors, price liberalisation and price monitoring mechanisms, the balance of crude oil and oil product consumption in Asian countries, and upcoming changes in trading practices in the regional liquefied petroleum gas market.
Participants will also discuss the current state and prospects of the petrochemical industry in Central Asia and the Caspian region, as well as crude oil and oil product supply routes, infrastructure development projects, rail transport issues and tanker shipments amid rising geopolitical instability.
SOCAR Midstream is involved in the transit of Kazakh oil through Baku, while SOCAR Trading helps market Kazakh oil products and petrochemical goods.
