ASWRA provides services to 3,300 subscribers in Khankandi
At present, the Azerbaijan State Water Resources Agency (ASWRA) is supplying water and sewage services to 3,264 subscribers in Khankandi city.
According to Report's correspondent in Khankandi, the information was shared during a media tour organized by the ASWRA.
It was noted that the city's water supply comes from the Khalfali River, streams passing through the territories of Jamilli and Ballija villages, as well as 15 artesian wells.
Water is delivered to the city through 530 mm diameter main pipelines. In line with the city's relief, Khankandi is divided into 10 hydraulic zones, each equipped with reservoirs of a total capacity of 15,000 cubic meters. The city's water network consists of 104 km of polyethylene pipes. For purification, two water treatment facilities with a daily capacity of 8,000 cubic meters, a chlorination system for disinfection, and meters for water consumption monitoring have been installed.
It was also reported that the hydraulic zones and the sewage system of the city have been assessed. Currently, a 67 km-long sewage network is in operation, with wastewater discharged from 27 points into valleys outside the city.
Within the framework of the First State Program on the Great Return, 36 families have been resettled in Khankandi and another 36 families in the settlement of Karkijahan.
