Remittances to Azerbaijan rise 29%
Remittances sent by individuals from abroad to Azerbaijan reached $296.9 million in the first quarter of 2026, up 29.4% from the same period last year.
Samir Nasirov, director of the Statistics Department at the Central Bank of Azerbaijan, said the figure stood at $229.5 million in the first quarter of 2025.
Russia accounted for the largest share of remittances. In January-March, $110.8 million was sent from Russia to Azerbaijan, making up 37.3% of the total.
Remittances from Türkiye amounted to $49.9 million, while transfers from Ireland stood at $24.6 million. Azerbaijan also received $23.9 million from the United States, $10.6 million from the United Kingdom, $10.3 million from Georgia and $9.9 million from the United Arab Emirates.
