Azerbaijan increases foreign direct investment inflows

Azerbaijan increases foreign direct investment inflows
16.06.2026 18:00

Foreign direct investment (FDI) into Azerbaijan rose in the first quarter of 2026 from a year earlier, according to data released by the Central Bank of Azerbaijan.

The increase was driven by investment in both the oil and gas sector and non-oil segments of the economy. The rise in FDI came amid a current account surplus and continued macroeconomic stability.

Azerbaijan has been seeking to attract foreign capital into sectors including energy, transport, industry and other areas as part of efforts to diversify its economy.
