Anglo Asian starts feasibility studies for major Azerbaijan copper deposits
Anglo Asian Mining has started feasibility studies for the Garadag and Xarxar copper deposits in Azerbaijan.
The company has appointed Worley Europe to carry out the studies, which will assess development options and copper production methods at the two projects. The combined deposits contain more than 1 million tonnes of copper resources.
The Xarxar feasibility study is expected to be completed by mid-2027, while the Garadag study is scheduled for completion in the first half of 2028. The company also plans a 90,000-metre drilling programme in 2026-2027.
Anglo Asian views the projects as a key part of its strategy to expand copper production and become a multi-asset mining company.
