Georgia brings energy agreements with Azerbaijan into force
Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze has signed decrees bringing into force intergovernmental agreements with Azerbaijan covering natural gas supplies, electricity cooperation and transit, Georgian media reported.
The agreements were signed in Baku on May 18, 2026, and have completed all required domestic approval procedures.
Under the decrees, Georgia’s Foreign Ministry is instructed to notify Azerbaijan that the procedures required for the agreements to enter into force have been completed, and to inform the Georgian parliament and president.
Both decrees took effect on July 15, the date of their official publication.
