Azerbaijan posts 2.4 billion manat budget surplus in first half

Azerbaijan’s state budget posted a surplus of 2.40 billion manats ($1.41 billion) in the first half of 2026 as revenues reached 19.18 billion manats and expenditures totalled 16.78 billion manats, the Finance Ministry said.

Budget revenues exceeded the official forecast by 1.9%, reaching almost half of the annual target.

Tax revenues amounted to 8.84 billion manats, transfers from the State Oil Fund (SOFAZ) totalled 6.42 billion manats, while customs revenues reached 3.14 billion manats.

Excluding the SOFAZ transfer, budget revenues totalled 12.76 billion manats, 2.8% above the forecast.

Non-oil and gas revenues increased 6.8% year-on-year to 10.98 billion manats, raising their share in total budget revenues to 57.3%, up from 51.9% a year earlier.
