In January–July of this year, 191.6 million manats were refunded to individuals and legal entities from the state budget of Azerbaijan, according to the Ministry of Finance.

The refunds were executed under the VAT compensation mechanism (ƏDV geri al) for VAT paid by individuals on retail trade, catering, medical, hotel, and cultural services (theaters, cinemas, museums, concerts)—including in liberated territories—as well as Tax Free purchases made by foreign nationals.

Additionally, refunds included partial VAT compensation for non-cash purchases of residential and commercial property from real estate developers, along with overpaid taxes, state duties, interest, and financial penalties.
