BP spent slightly over $1 billion on activities across the Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli (ACG) block of fields in the first half of 2026, according to the company's H1 operational report.

Operational expenditure accounted for approximately $268 million, while capital expenditure reached $733 million. Total production from ACG averaged 323,000 barrels per day during the first six months, totaling around 59 million barrels (8 million tonnes).

Work on the Central Azeri Gas Expansion (CAGE) project progressed ahead of schedule without interrupting production, with full completion scheduled for September this year.

A major technical milestone was achieved with the drilling of the C44 well from the West Azeri platform — the first multilateral well ever drilled in the Caspian Sea — delivered safely and one month ahead of schedule. As of late June, ACG had 150 oil producing wells, 51 water injection wells, and 11 gas injection wells in operation.
