At the end of the second quarter of this year, the total number of Azerbaijani nationals employed by BP — including fixed-term contract staff — stood at 2,363, according to BP-Azerbaijan's H1 business update.

This represents a decrease of 32 people, or 1.3%, compared to the same period in 2025, when the company employed 2,395 Azerbaijani citizens.

The report highlights that since mid-2018, national staff have accounted for 90% of BP's qualified workforce, while non-qualified roles are 100% staffed by local citizens. BP affirmed its commitment to supporting workforce development initiatives and strengthening the local labor market.
