Azerbaijan spends over 1bn manats on 340 reconstruction projects in liberated territories

Azerbaijan executed 340 infrastructure and development projects across its liberated territories during the first half of the year.

According to a semi-annual report by the Ministry of Finance, total expenditure reached 1 billion 64.1 million manats, accounting for 30.4% of actual allocations. Out of the total projects executed in Karabakh and Eastern Zangezur, 182 were social, 76 transport, 36 water management and irrigation, 19 defense and law enforcement, 11 energy and industrial, and 16 classified under other sectors.

Transport projects absorbed the largest share of funding at 505.2 million manats (48% execution rate), followed by social sector initiatives at 400.5 million manats (23%). Spending on defense and law enforcement projects stood at 60.3 million manats (42%), energy and industrial projects at 15.4 million manats (11%), water management at 7.6 million manats (3%), and other projects at 75.2 million manats (31%).
