Azerbaijan’s strategic foreign reserves jump 12% to approach $87 billion

Azerbaijan's strategic foreign exchange reserves reached $86.815 billion as of August 1, 2026, nearing the $87 billion threshold.

According to Vesti.az, citing the State Statistics Committee (SSC), the country's strategic reserves expanded by 12.2% compared to the figures recorded on August 1, 2025.

At the same time, Azerbaijan continued to reduce its external debt. SSC data shows that as of August 1 this year, external debt declined to $4.59 billion, marking a 7.5% year-on-year reduction.
