SOCAR's STAR Refinery Boosts Diesel and LPG Output in June 2026
Production metrics at SOCAR's STAR Oil Refinery in Türkiye showed marked shifts in product yields in June 2026 compared to the same month last year.
Calculations based on data released by Türkiye's Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EPDK) show that STAR's diesel fuel output rose 6.1% year-on-year to 560,350 tons. Liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) production posted a 5.5-fold surge (446.1%), climbing to 155,789 tons from 28,529 tons in June 2025. Conversely, aviation fuel production declined by 33.6% to 118,695 tons, naphtha dropped 39.7% to 80,810 tons, and petroleum coke contracted by 30.2% to 40,903 tons.
Additionally, the refinery generated 42,761 tons of biodiesel-blended diesel, 25,163 tons of heavy vacuum gas oil, and 174.31 tons of bitumen during the month. The pronounced jump in LPG and diesel volumes helped balance lower runs in lighter and solid fractions.
