Azerbaijan Streamlines Fisheries Business Registration and Expands Certified Seed Production
Simplifying business registration procedures in the fisheries sector and ramping up domestic fish production stand among Azerbaijan's primary agricultural targets, Deputy Minister of Agriculture Ilhama Gadimova announced at a press conference.
Gadimova highlighted that curbing regulatory abuse and strengthening state supervision remain key priorities. President Ilham Aliyev signed the new Law on Fisheries on August 27, establishing an updated legal framework for aquatic bioresource conservation, aquaculture growth, and fish breeding.
The Deputy Minister also addressed modernizations in the seed production framework, emphasizing that legislative updates aim to foster private-sector participation and boost output of certified seeds. Governed by the new Law on Seed Production and the 2026–2030 state program, the ministry will enforce stricter quality control and enhanced certification protocols.
