Bitcoin Tops $81,000 as Easing Fed Rate Fears Fuel Crypto Rally
Major cryptocurrencies rallied sharply over the past 24 hours, sending Bitcoin up 4.53% to $81,039.86 as receding Federal Reserve rate-hike concerns spurred appetite for risk assets, CoinMarketCap data showed.
Ethereum advanced 4.82% to trade at $2,512.47, BNB gained 4.95% to $726.30, Bittensor added 5.39% to $229.81, and Bitcoin Cash rose 3.83% to $256.62. Zcash posted the session's strongest surge, climbing 16.43% to $950.46, while Monero slipped 0.81% to $503.20. Tokenized gold assets followed physical bullion gains, with PAX Gold (PAXG) firming 0.78% to $4,475.49 and Tether Gold (XAUT) gaining 0.87% to $4,466.09, lifting the broader CoinMarketCap 20 index 4.75% to 166.42 points.
The broad digital asset advance was underpinned by declining U.S. Treasury yields following comments from Fed Governor Christopher Waller, who signaled openness to holding interest rates steady if disinflation trends persist. Market participants now look ahead to upcoming U.S. labor market indicators for further clarity on monetary policy direction.
