Iran demands exclusion of US forces from Trump Route project in Armenia
Tehran has insisted that security along the TRIPP ("Trump Route") corridor in Armenia must be handled strictly by Armenian armed forces or foreign military units already deployed inside the country, News.am reported citing informed sources.
The initiative aims to prevent U.S. military personnel from stationing directly adjacent to Iran's northern border. Iranian officials cautioned that an American armed presence could be viewed as a legitimate target amid ongoing tensions with Washington.
In response, Armenian officials assured Tehran that the transit initiative will pose no strategic or security risks to Iran.
