Nakhchivan's foreign trade turnover rises 28%

Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic of Azerbaijan conducted foreign trade operations worth $101.9 million in January-August 2026,  citing Nakhchivan's State Statistical Committee.

The figure was 28% higher than in the same period last year.

Exports accounted for $8.7 million of foreign trade turnover, while imports totaled $93.2 million.

Over the past year, exports declined by 3.8%, while imports increased by 32.1%.

As a result, Nakhchivan recorded a foreign trade deficit of $84.5 million, up 37.6% year-on-year.

In addition, retail trade turnover in the autonomous republic reached 995.3 million manats ($585.5 million) in the first eight months of the year, 1% higher than a year earlier.

Retail sales included 513.6 million manats ($302.1 million) worth of food products, beverages and tobacco products and 481.7 million manats ($283.4 million) worth of non-food goods.
