Digital economic platform proposed to accelerate trade across Turkic states

The establishment of a shared digital economic platform is critical to advancing regional integration among Turkic nations, Turkish AK Party Deputy Chairman and Ankara MP Kürşad Zorlu stated at the 2nd International Conference of Leading National Think Tanks of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) in Baku.

Zorlu noted that the global economy is navigating a transformative industrial phase driven by artificial intelligence, data-driven governance, blockchain, and financial technologies, urging the Turkic world to proactively align with these changes. He recalled that a foundational Digital Partnership Agreement has already been signed and ratified by the parliaments of Azerbaijan, Turkey, and Uzbekistan, with ratification procedures ongoing across other member countries.

Pointing out that 76% of Turkey’s estimated three million enterprises still rely on conventional methods for foreign trade, Zorlu emphasized that a unified digital marketplace is essential for expanding the market reach of domestically produced goods both within the bloc and globally.

Highlighting Turkey's private-sector-led "Türkiye Kervanı" platform and related initiatives in Uzbekistan, he underlined that regional digital architectures will curb operational inefficiencies, streamline cross-border market access, and enhance the global competitiveness of Turkic brands.
