Bitcoin tops $81,000 as broad crypto rebound accelerates
Leading cryptocurrency assets extended their upward trajectory over the past 24 hours, with Bitcoin advancing 1.20% to trade at $81,424.57, according to CoinMarketCap data. The flagship token’s market capitalization approached $1.64 trillion as the recovery that began late last week gained traction.
Across altcoins, Ethereum climbed 2.98% to $2,662.61, BNB rose 3.88% to $777.31, Zcash added 4.28% to $1,516.08, Bittensor gained 6.34%, and Bitcoin Cash advanced 3.84%. Monero outperformed the broader market with an 8.96% rally to $575.54. Bucking the sector-wide trend, gold-backed PAX Gold (PAXG) edged down 0.05% to $4,357.29, while the benchmark CoinMarketCap 20 Index strengthened by 1.93% to 169.90 points.
Easing crude oil prices and resilient global equity markets continue to bolster institutional appetite for risk-on assets; however, persistently high US Treasury yields anchored by the Federal Reserve’s restrictive policy stance remain a key headwind capping further upside momentum.
